DIVAS - HFB We "Create Hope through Design" with our home makeovers. We are a non-profit volunteer group of individuals from all walks of life and with various skill sets.

We transform homes of disadvantaged families, who have little or no furniture (or belongings), into functional, livable spaces through the Houston Furniture Bank and their partner agencies. In partnership with Houston Furniture Bank (HFB), the DIVAS serve families and individuals who are affected by poverty, physical and mental health concerns, domestic violence, and natural disasters. Many of the

se families have lost all of their personal belongings and have nothing but a roof over their heads. The families are working with social service agencies (who partner with the HFB) to improve their life circumstances. For the families we serve, a DIVAS home makeover is a life-changing step in a transition toward stability. We are always accepting new volunteers who simply love helping others.

Our volunteer home makeover team was totally on task. We "Create Hope Through Design" by transforming this empty apartment into a HOME in one day on May 16, 2026. There were no beds to sleep on, no table or chairs to dine on and no lights in the bedrooms. The family (single mom and 4 children) was so excited and appreciative for what we were able to do with your donations of repurposed furniture and household items. Looking for a place to donate your gently used household decor (linens, drapery, lamps, tabletop decor, kitchenwares, comforters, bed sheets, etc.)? Consider donating to the DIVAS.

The Furniture Bank is offering FREE pickup for gently used furniture donations! 🛋️ Your old couch, dresser, or dining table can help a local family furnish their home. 💙

✨ Here's how:

🛏️ Please note: Mattresses and foundations are not included in the free pickup.
• Pickup fee: $65 per piece
• Drop-off fee: $25 per piece
These fees help us responsibly recycle and offset processing costs.
