Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time, and knowing what to do in those critical moments can help save a life.

CPR and AED use are not just for first responders or medical professionals. During cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation decreases a person’s chance of survival by 7% to 10%.

When CPR and an AED are used within the first few minutes of collapse, survival rates can double or even triple.

Many people understand the importance of AEDs during a cardiac emergency, but are unsure of when and how to use one. That’s why Red Cross CPR and AED training is so important.

Red Cross CPR and AED courses teach you what to do before, during, and after administering a shock with an AED, helping give someone experiencing cardiac arrest the best possible chance at survival.

Be prepared. Learn lifesaving skills today.
