CLA is pleased to announce a summer virtual course, “Memory and Mystery: The Art of Memoir Writing” with teacher Danny Fitzpatrick! Students will study great memoirists such as Joan Didion and Evelyn Waugh. Coursework will include writing and reading exercises as well as instructor feedback.

CLA is excited for the Alleluia Sacred Poetry Contest, themed “Brother Sun, Sister Moon” in honor of St. Francis of Assisi! This contest is offered to three student communities. Students in grades 7-12 will write poetry inspired by St. Francis’ poem Canticle of All Creatures.

Catholic Literary Arts extends congratulations to CLA member, artist and poet Roseanne Sullivan, whose artwork was recently featured at a Marian Art Exhibition at Stella Maris Academy of the Star of the Sea Parish, in San Francisco, CA. Here Roseanne is pictured beside an oil painting she completed in 2011 (and a close-up of the painting).
