BUGs Fam! The Call for Workshop Proposals is officially open! Join us for the 14th Annual Black Farmers & Urban Gardeners (BUGs) National Conference, taking place October 23–25, 2026, at Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana! Deadline to apply is August 17, 2026.

Are you passionate about farming, gardening, food justice, environmental justice, the business of farming, grant writing, cooperative economics, land stewardship, afrofuturism,herbalism, policy, storytelling, wellness, or another topic that can help strengthen our movement? We’d love for you to share your knowledge with the BUGs community.

With 1000 + attendees expected from across the country this year in New Orleans, this is an incredible opportunity to inspire, teach, and connect with growers, organizers, educators, students, and food systems leaders.

No formal education or credentials are required. What matters most is your lived experience, deep knowledge, and passion for the work.

The 14th Annual Black Farmers and Urban Gardeners (BUGs) Conference is happening October 23 to 25, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

BUGs is the largest national gathering for Black farmers, growers, land stewards, and food justice organizers. Every year, we show up, show out, and build together.

You can expect:
✔️ Hands-on workshops covering everything from soil health to financial sustainability
✔️ A keynote lineup that addresses land, legacy, and liberation
✔️ Local farm tours and site visits throughout New Orleans and the surrounding areas
✔️ Cultural experiences, and our annual Saturday night party
✔️ Authentic conversations, strategic planning, and community building

This isn’t just a conference. It’s a homecoming. It’s a space to reconnect, sharpen our skills, and advance this movement. It’s where our stories and futures come alive.
