We had the best time celebrating the incredible volunteers who help bring the Jamie’s Hope Celebrity Golf Tournament for a Cure to life year after year!

đź’ś Meet Emma Palmer, our newest Adopt-a-Patient recipient.

Emma is 19, a full-time college student, and already part of the Jamie’s Hope family. With a heart for helping others, she has volunteered with Jamie’s Hope—never imagining that one day, her own family would be on the receiving end of that same love and support.

This summer, everything changed.

Emma went to the hospital for what her family believed was appendicitis and underwent an emergency appendectomy. Two weeks later, they received news no parent ever expects: pathology revealed a malignant neuroendocrine tumor of the appendix.

Suddenly, what should have been a normal summer for a 19-year-old became filled with oncology appointments, specialists, blood work, scans, procedures, and so many unknowns.

On August 6, Emma underwent a four-hour right hemicolectomy to remove the right side of her colon and additional lymph nodes. She is now recovering from major abdominal surgery and continues to be closely monitored by her medical team.

Her mom shared, “It has been incredibly difficult watching my 19-year-old daughter go through something no young person should have to face.” Yet through the pain, fear, and uncertainty, Emma has shown incredible strength and courage.

Their family is also facing the financial weight that so often accompanies cancer—from hospitalization and surgery to specialists and continued care.

Through our Adopt-a-Patient program, Jamie’s Hope is honored to surround Emma and her family with love and support during this difficult season.

There is something especially meaningful about supporting someone who has already given her own time to our mission. Emma, you’ve shown up for Jamie’s Hope. Now it’s our turn to show up for you. 💜
