I few years ago I read the book. 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and it became a manual for which I utilized in redefining myself , my habits and how I made decisions. My favorite quote from the book is “Things that matter least, should never be at the mercy of things that matter most.
I also noticed it gave the habit forming behaviors in the number 7. And 7 represents completion. So on this I want to give you 🔑 7 DISCIPLINE HABITS for a 21-Day Leadership Reset. Which is the timeframe researchers have shown us as the consistency of time to form a new habit within your internal structure .
I’m really big on accountability so these aren’t performance-based. This is about self-governance, not productivity.
Here’s my 7
1. Check Your Identity Before Your To-Do List
Before you touch your phone, ask:
Who am I choosing to be today?
Not what you have to do… who you are showing up as.
2. Sit in Silence for 10 Minutes (No Input)
No music. No scrolling. No talking.
This is where your clarity lives. Most people avoid it because it forces truth.
3. Tell Yourself the Truth (Out Loud)
Not affirmations… truth.
Where are you slipping?
What are you avoiding? Or being avoidant?
Where are you playing small?
Say it. Own it. Adjust it.
4. Make One Non-Negotiable Decision Daily
Not a long list. Just one.
Something that aligns with your higher self that you will complete no matter what.
This builds trust with yourself. You will be surprised at where your trust lies within.
5. Observe Your Patterns Without Judgment
Pay attention to:
❗️What distracts you?
❗️What drains you?
❗️What do you avoid?
Don’t shame it. Study it.
Discipline comes from awareness, not punishment.
6. Move Your Body with Intention
Not for aesthetics.
For control, presence, and energy regulation.
A disciplined leader knows how to command their own energy first.
7. End Your Day with a Self Audit
Ask yourself:
❗️Did I show up in alignment?
❗️Where did I break my word to myself?
❗️What gets corrected tomorrow?
No guilt…. If you feel the need to guilt yourself , you are doing it all wrong. Give yourself grace and just make the correction. You’re not tracking results. You’re tracking integrity with yourself.
If you skip a day, don’t spiral… just don’t lie about it. Just jump back into it
