To the pastor who thinks they need all the answers...
Pastors wear a lot of hats. Preacher. Counselor. Vision caster. Fundraiser. Team builder. Strategist. Sometimes plumber. No one expects you to be great at all of them.
But somewhere along the way, more and more pastors we know have started to believe that asking for help means admitting, "I should be able to figure this out myself."
Here's what we'd tell you.
Asking for help is not an admission of failure. It's a sign of humility. And good leadership.
Simon Sinek says, "Asking for help is an act of service." John Maxwell puts it another way: successful leaders don't know everything, they know people who can help.
The best leaders we know keep learning, invite outside perspective, and bring in coaches who can help them see what they can't see on their own.
So if asking for help makes you feel less capable, we'd argue the opposite.
It tells your people the mission matters more than your ego.
