A major milestone for carbon capture and storage in Esbjerg.

On 18 September, Greensand Future was inaugurated in the city. It is Europe’s first commercial-scale, fully integrated value chain for the capture, transport and permanent offshore storage of CO₂.

The project highlights Esbjerg’s growing role in developing and supporting new energy infrastructure.
