Since 1940, the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) has exclusively represented the worldwide oil and gas drilling industry. Membership is open to any company involved in oil and gas exploration, drilling or production, well servicing, oilfield manufacturing or other rig-site services. IADC Membership
IADC’s contract-drilling members own most of the world’s land and offshore drilling units that drill the vast majority of the wells producing the planet’s oil and gas. IADC’s membership also includes oil-and-gas producers, and manufacturers and suppliers of oilfield equipment and services. Through conferences, training seminars, print and electronic publications, and a comprehensive network of technical publications, IADC continually fosters education and communication within the upstream petroleum industry.

Representatives from IADC member companies recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to speak up for the drilling industry. Fly-Ins connect lawmakers directly with our industry and help us build relationships on both sides of the aisle.

Over two days, offshore, onshore and drilling services members met with 17 lawmakers and candidates from both parties to discuss how federal policy affects operations and to present contributions from the IADC DrillersPAC in an effort to garner more support for our industry.

At the IADC Appalachian Basin Technical Forum, Basin Operators will share their perspectives on the drilling outlook, safety and training, efficiency and performance, and equipment.

Congratulations to the PV Drilling PVD VIII rig team on ONE YEAR without a Lost Time Incident — an outstanding achievement in its very first year of operation! 🎉

After a successful campaign for Vietsovpetro (VSP) in Vietnam, PVD VIII is now on contract with Petronas in Malaysia. Through it all, safety has remained the constant.

Milestones like this reflect real teamwork and discipline at every level. Congratulations to the entire PV Drilling and PVD VIII team on a job well done! 👏

More than 900 drilling and well professionals from 30+ countries gathered in Bali, Indonesia for the 2026 SPE/IADC Asia Pacific Drilling Technology Conference & Exhibition (APDT). 🇮🇩

In the opening session, Manav Kumar Agarwal, President of Dynamic Drilling, represented IADC as a 2026 Executive Committee Member. He spotlighted the IADC-SPE partnership, IADC's regional student chapters, and geothermal progress. He then introduced IADC's new reputational messaging campaign, urging members to use materials in the online portal to help tell drilling's story.

IADC proudly sponsored 12 students and two faculty advisors from our Curtin University and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Student Chapters.
