🧡 An Evening of Appreciation & Celebration! 🧡

We came together for The Arc of Harris County’s Appreciation Event to celebrate the incredible people who make our mission possible.

We were especially proud to honor Rey Fernandez for his self-advocacy and leadership. A member of The Arc for 27 years, Rey has grown into a leader who encourages others, lends a helping hand, and makes sure everyone feels included.

We also celebrated and thanked our amazing volunteers, caregivers, board members, and staff for their dedication and commitment to our mission.

Congratulations, Rey, and thank you to everyone who helps make The Arc of Harris County such a special community! 🌟👏

🦖🐾🦕 Ready for a dino-mite Special Needs Screening? Join us on Saturday for our free, sensory-friendly show at all SMG locations. 🥤 Pair it with a refreshing, movie-inspired Rescue Rush for $1 with a Kids' Meal or $6 each.

Special Needs Screenings auditoriums keep the 💡⬆️ lights up, 🔈⬇️ the volume low, and enjoy a space where 💃 moving around, talking, and dancing in the aisles is welcome.

🧡 THRIVE ALIVE is starting September 3! 🧡

Thrive Alive is all about belonging, living, and thriving—giving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a welcoming space to build friendships, grow their independence, connect with their community, and have FUN!

📅 Starts Thursday, September 3
🕙 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
📍 West Gray Recreational Center
👥 Ages 18+ | Limited to 20 participants
🎉 Weekly sessions are FREE!
🚗 Plus, one Friday each month (date TBD) we'll head out into the community for an outing!

Participants should bring their own lunch. Monthly outings will have an additional cost.

We are excited to share that Thriving Together Day Camp is returning! This year, we're expanding the program beyond the summer and will be offering Thriving Together during the school year on HISD staff professional development (PD) days, when students are not in school.

Designed for youth ages 10-18 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or autism, the camp provides opportunities to learn, socialize, build independence, and have fun in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
