TOPIC: A CALL TO A NEW BEGINNING
(Dr. Greg Emejuobi)

TEXT: GENESIS 12:1-4

Amen, The LORD of glory is in this house today.

1 Now the LORD had said to Abram:

“Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
4 So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Intro:
I welcome everyone to this special day. A day the Lord has made specifically for Triumphant to open its doors of worship to this Richmond / Sugar Land communities and the entire Houston area. It's no accident that you are here today. As a matter of fact, God knew you were going to be here right from the foundation of the world. We truly appreciate your honoring our invitation and the prompting of the Holy Spirit to come and witness the new beginning of God’s work He committed into our hands.

Ever so often in Biblical history, Great men and women of whom God had called for special assignment had the same characteristics….. Eagerness, obedience, faith. Those were ordinary people like you and I. But God used them to accomplish extraordinary feats. We can be used of God in the same manner too.

1. So I declare and proclaim that you are blessed today.
2. Your life shall be an impact to those around you by the virtue of the fact that your faith would be anchored on the Lord of Glory.
3. As you receive from Him this morning, you will never go home the way you came.

Speaking of a new beginning; every great project that would be beneficial and make life meaningful and fulfilling at one point may have had some difficulties and challenges.

Today, we will examine the life and call of someone who faced difficult challenges and uncertainties of the future, yet by faith and obedience, he made the choice that made you and I today benefactors of his blessings.

The Call of Abram

God (the master planner) told Abram who later became Abraham to leave his…..
a. Country…( home, his town, village, identity)

b. Family….(the people he has known all his life, his uncles, those he had loved all his life)

c. Father’s house….(his inheritance as the first son, all that his father has left for him after his death).
Everything that matter in life, God said leave them, sacrifice them for the unknown. Imagine that the Omniscient (All Knowing) God is calling you to leave everything for the unknown. I'd rather take God’s unknown future than my own plan. That’s the problem humanity has today.
There is no place to fit in our daily lives God’s plan, hence failures.
I declare that you shall not fail in your endeavors from now on as you fix yourself in God’s plan.

Note that He God did not obscure what He would do for Abram. He plainly said,
1. I will make you a great nation…
2. I will bless you and make you great
3. And that he (Abraham) shall be a blessing.
4. I will bless those who bless you and curse him who curses you
5. And in him(Abraham) shall all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

The 3 Elements To Destiny Fulfillment ( Deut. 28:1-2; 11:13)

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:

And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,

1. Obedience to the voice of the LORD
2. Observe (carefully, diligently heed the God’s commandments) His command to you.
3. Step out in Faith..( trusting Him implicitly).

God is calling us to a new beginning in:
a. Our relationships with
i. Him
ii. Others in our lives…friends
iii. Families and loved ones.
b. Businesses…
i. New direction…. On ideas that may be a source of increase and growth.
ii. Personal life…. Change the way we approach issues and perhaps a redirection on what we are doing for many years that have not been working. We are in stagnation but He wants us to refocus and reboot for success
c. A new Birth (John 3): Nicodemus heard Christ preach in the Synagogue and later at night he went to Him privately to inquire on how one can be born again.
May be that’s your situation today….
He wants to change you today
He wants to give you hope for tomorrow… ( my hope is built on nothing else…)
He wants to set you on solid ground so you can withstand the world around you
He wants to give you peace that the world cannot give you.
He wants to give you a new name. Change your name from bitterness to sweetness.

God changed Abraham’s name from Abram. You are primed for a new beginning and success in life, spiritually and financially today if you will enter into a covenant with God this morning. You will never be the same. 2 Cor. 5:17….. A new creature for a brand new beginning

The Determination to Succeed (2 Tim 1:12)
For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
13 Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

As I end this message this morning, I leave you with the words of the song by Phillip P. Bliss…

Ho, my comrades, see the signal, waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing, victory is nigh.

Refrain:

“Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still;
Wave the answer back to Heaven, “By Thy grace we will.”

See the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on;
Mighty ones around us falling, courage almost gone!

See the glorious banner waving! Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s Name we triumph over every foe.

Fierce and long the battle rages, but our help is near;
Onward comes our great Commander, cheer, my comrades, cheer!
