PACCTX Greater Houston Region (GHR) proudly participated in the 2026 Business Conference, Expo and Rising 10 Awards Luncheon held at the Omni Houston Hotel today. The event brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community advocates for a day of learning, networking, and celebrating business excellence. 

Representing PACCTX GHR were Region Chair Gemma Gullaksen, Vice Chair Jessica Tecson, and Board Members MJ Verzosa-Concepcion, Jaylord DiPalma, Tess Tuazon, Marilyn Rogers and Rolf Gullaksen.

A special congratulations to our very own board member Lani Cabral Pasao for being recognized as one of this year's Rising 10 awardees. What a wonderful blessing and a well-deserved honor!

We are grateful to have been part of such a successful and inspiring event. It was a great opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, strengthen relationships, and build new partnerships within the business community. We hope everyone had the chance to meet new people, exchange ideas, and expand their networks.

Building Stronger Partnerships Through Education and Business

It was a pleasure meeting with Dean Xianjun Geng and his leadership team from the University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business. We were also honored to meet Professor Mohan Kuruvilla, Director of the MSACCY Program, and a group of outstanding Filipino students currently participating in the collaborative program between the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and the University of Houston.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to introduce our Chamber's mission, vision, advocacy efforts, and programs that support Filipino American businesses and professionals. Chamber representatives shared information about their businesses and their respective roles within the organization.

PACCTX Greater Houston Region Attendees were Aileen Dizon – State President, Gary Ilagan – Executive Director, Gemma Gullaksen – Greater Houston Region Chair, Jessica Tecson – Greater Houston Region Vice Chair and Board Members Bobby Reyes, Lani Pasao, Jaylord Palma and Anthony Guevara.

Our discussion focused on exploring potential areas of collaboration that would benefit both students and the business community, including: Mentorship opportunities, Student internships, Guest lectures and industry speaker engagements, Corporate and industry site visits and Joint networking and educational events.

We are excited about the possibilities that emerged from this initial conversation and look forward to building a meaningful partnership with the University of Houston Bauer College of Business. By working together, we can create valuable opportunities for students, connect future leaders with industry professionals, and strengthen ties between academia and the business community.

Thank you to Dean Geng, Professor Kuruvilla, the Bauer College team, Joyce and Paolo, and the students for a productive and engaging discussion. We look forward to future collaborations that will benefit both the academic and business communities.

Closing the 2026 National ACE Conference on a High Note

What an incredible evening at the National ACE Awards Gala as we celebrated the close of another successful National ACE Conference. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and a shared commitment to advancing business and community leadership.

We were honored to join distinguished leaders and guests as National ACE recognized outstanding individuals and organizations making an impact across industries. Congratulations to all award recipients, including Rising Star Awardee Marlin Ramsey Chan, Pioneer Awardee Dr. Martha J. Wong, Business Innovator of the Year Ram Palaniappan, and Legend Award recipients Jimmy and Cindi Ferguson. We were also inspired by keynote speaker and Space Exploration Leadership Awardee Dr. Kjell Lindgren of NASA Johnson Space Center.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our corporate members who joined us: Wendy Nguyen and the NTCP-CPAs team, Jessica Tecson, Senior Vice President of Business Banking at Amegy Bank, and Joey Laguana-Aldinger, Vice President and Branch Manager at Amegy Bank.

Thank you as well to our business members Claire Camba-Fuentes of ABC Construction, Dahn Tran of Inertia Resources, and Vilma Romero of Filipino Homes. We were also pleased to have professional member Bennett Rivera, WellControl Operations Manager, in attendance.

We proudly acknowledge the dedication and leadership of our PACCTX-GHR Board members who attended: Gary Ilagan of Fong Ilagan LLP, Margarita Truong, Anthony Guevara, Jaylord Palma, Bobby Reyes, Christian Toledo and Mary Jane Concepcion.

It was especially wonderful to spend the daytime and evening events with our colleagues from PACCTX-Greater Dallas Fort Worth, PACCTX - Greater San Antonio and PACCTX - Greater Austin Regions, strengthening relationships and building new opportunities for collaboration.

PACCTX Participates in the 2026 National ACE Annual Conference

The Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Texas (PACCTX), together with representatives from its five regions, proudly participated in the 2026 National ACE Annual Conference held on September 18, 2026, at the Westin Galleria in Houston, Texas. The conference brought together entrepreneurs, business leaders, community advocates, and policymakers from across the nation to foster collaboration, innovation, and economic empowerment. 

PACCTX was honored to play an important role in supporting the success of this national event. In recognition of their dedication and contributions, both PACCTX and the Greater Houston Region were presented with Plaques of Appreciation by National ACE for their involvement in the planning, coordination, and logistics that helped make the conference a success.

Great breakfast event this morning at Amegy Bank Tower featuring guest speaker Hannah McNair of the McNair family, owners of the Houston Texans.

Board Members Tess Tuazon and Jessica Tecson appreciated the opportunity to share perspectives on the needs, challenges, and opportunities within the Asian community while exploring ways to strengthen engagement and collaboration. PACCTX GHR Humanitarian Committee — Community in Action!

PACCTX GHR’s Humanitarian Committee is proud to support the Houston Food Bank through our spaghetti and spaghetti sauce donation drive — strengthening a partnership built on compassion, service, and community care.

Through collaborations like the Community Food Distribution Program, the Houston Food Bank and local partners work together to provide supplemental food assistance to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. It’s a meaningful mission, and we’re honored to contribute.

Recently, our PACCTX GHR Board Members shared how rewarding it was to serve seniors in our community — seeing their appreciation, their smiles, and being reminded of the importance of kindness, compassion, and helping one another. It truly was a privilege to be part of an effort that supports and cares for our senior citizens.

Thank you to Marilyn Rogers, Annabelle Gabad and Rolly de Meza for being at the Notre Dame Catholic Church today to give our food donations and also assist the Houston Food Bank with distribution! Many thanks as well to Raquel Harris for spearheading the project for PACCTX GHR!

The Philippine‑American Chamber of Commerce Texas – Greater Houston Region (PACCTX GHR) participated in the Filipino American Council of Texas (FACT) Gala 2026, a landmark celebration of service and leadership within the Filipino‑American community.

The Filipino American Council of Texas (FACT) is a community organization based in Houston, Texas, that supports and unites the local Filipino American population through cultural events, networking, and support services.

During the program, PACCTX GHR was formally presented with a Lifetime Membership Certificate by the Filipino American Council of Texas. The honor was bestowed by Philippines Consul General Gunther Emil Sales, underscoring the strong partnership between PACCTX GHR, FACT, and the Philippine Consulate in Houston.

This recognition affirms PACCTX GHR’s ongoing commitment to community leadership, collaboration, and support for Filipino‑American organizations across Texas. It also marks a meaningful milestone in strengthening ties within the Greater Houston Region’s Filipino‑American civic and business community.
