Join HMAA as we invite Andrea Estrada, M. Ed, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and Certified Confidence Coach, to engage in open dialogue with us about common women’s mental health barriers, how we can focus forward, and available resources. Enjoy a safe and intimate space where you can ask tough questions and share or learn more.

Afterwards we will have a fire release to let go of the negative emotions. Using a pen & paper, you’ll write down the feelings / memories / negative thoughts and burn them in the fire to release yourself.

We look forward to seeing you!

We will be in the Clay Family Eastern Glades Picnic Area picnic area 2.

Please join us this Wednesday, September 22nd at 2 PM CT, as the Mental Health Task Force brings you the workshop "Mental Health and Hazing."

The negative psychological effects of hazing can be both long-lasting and just as traumatic to the victim and their families. These can include depression, su***de, poor grades, withdrawal from activities, and shame. This harm can persist into adulthood and can undermine the well-being of a person.

We strongly encourage at least one member from each entity (both collegiate and alumni) to sign up for this important workshop, presented by Sharazazi Dyson, M.Ed.

Please sign up on GreekTrack on the National Event Calendar.

The sacred holiday of Sukkot is celebrated five days after Yom Kippur. Sukkot is named after the booths or huts in which Jews are supposed to dwell during the week-long celebration.

The origins of Sukkot are found in an ancient autumnal harvest festival. It is often referred to as hag ha-asif, “The Harvest Festival.” Much of the imagery and ritual of the holiday revolves around rejoicing and thanking God for the completed harvest.

The festival of Sukkot is one of the three great pilgrimage festivals of the Jewish year. Sigma Lambda Gamma would like to wish well to those who celebrate!

Sigma Lambda Gamma would like to commemorate and celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month!

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Hispanic Heritage Month actually began as a commemorative week when it was first introduced in June of 1968 by California Congressman George E. Brown. The push to recognize the contributions of the Latinx community had gained momentum throughout the 1960s when the civil rights movement was at its peak and there was a growing awareness of the United States' multicultural identities.

The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.

Today we mark 20 years since September 11, 2001. We will forever remember and honor over thousands of people who tragically lost their lives on this day. Though this day gives us great pain, we will forever cherish the memories of the victims and the courageous heroes who fought to save countless lives.
