Wishing a warm West U Rotary welcome to our new exchange student, Gaia, who arrived today from Avise, Italy! 🇮🇹

Gaia comes from a town of just 300 people and is sponsored by District 2031 and the Ivrea Rotary Club.

In addition to Italian, she speaks fluent English and good French and Spanish.

She is pictured here with her 1st host family, the Figueroa’s.

Last winter John LaChapelle became the first Rotary International Global Grant Scholar to represent the West U Rotary Club. When the final approval of his scholarship to study Mediation and Peacemaking at Tel Aviv University came from RI last month, John didn’t get the good news for several days. He was traveling in the Mid-East and cell service on camels is notoriously bad.
