Back-to-school season can feel exciting, but for students living with type 1 diabetes, it can also bring a whole new set of challenges. That’s why we really appreciated seeing FOX 7 Austin shine a light on what it takes to manage T1D while navigating school, classes and everything else that comes with being a student. We know how much planning and preparation can happen behind the scenes and how important it is for students to feel supported as they become more independent in managing their diabetes. Stories like this matter because they help others understand that T1D doesn’t take a break when the school year begins. Take a few minutes to watch the story highlighting our very own Luke Edwards.

Back to school can bring a lot of new challenges for students living with diabetes. Libbi Farrow speaks with one UT student about what it takes to manage the disease while being a student.
