The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) - Pittsburgh Section and AADE Appalachian Basin Chapter once again joined forces on March 31st for the annual Pints & Posters event, and what a night it was.

This event continues to be one of my favorites. It’s the perfect blend of informal networking and meaningful industry engagement—bringing together professionals and students over drinks, appetizers, and some truly impressive technical presentations.

More than just a competition, Pints & Posters creates space for mentorship, connection, and the celebration of the next generation of energy leaders. The talent coming up in this industry is something to be excited about.

With prizes ranging from $1,000–$3,000, the competition was strong, so a huge congratulations to our 2026 award winners:

First Place: Rosemary Tosanwumi
Second Place: Allison Taylor
Third Place: Ianna Gomez Mendez

Well done to all who participated, and thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. Events like this are exactly what keep our industry strong, collaborative, forward-thinking, and invested in the future.

Kicking off the Spring/Summer event season the right way at this year’s AADE Appalachian Basin Chapter Topgolf Event!

This great event brought our industry together to support two incredible causes — the AADE Appalachian Basin Scholarship Fund and 4 Paws for Ability, an organization that trains and provides life-changing service dogs to disabled children and veterans.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who helped make the event possible: Ellen Montgomery, Brenda Fish, Teresa Buckingham, CSP, SMS, Rebecca Landis, Marisa Logan, and Ella Rodriguez. Your time and effort truly make a difference.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors who continue to support both our industry and our communities:

Ulterra Drilling Technologies L.P., Revolution Energy Services, Inc., Sentry Wellhead Systems, Evolution Well Services, Quality Rental Tools, Knight Energy Services, LLC, Energy One Holdings, KLX Energy Services, NexTier Completion Solutions, B&L Pipeco Services, Halliburton, Argus Quality Solutions, and CTAP, LLC.

And a special thank you to Jeremiah Torres, Jennifer Doak, and Sabrina Hudock for organizing such a fantastic event.

Events like this are a reminder that the Appalachian energy community doesn’t just power our region, it shows up to support it.

In the wake of the devastating flooding in Kerr County, we’re proud to share that the AADE Houston, IADC Houston Chapter, and Spindletop Charities have come together to donate a combined $60,000 to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

Even in the hardest times, our oilfield community shows up with compassion and action. We stand with Kerr County and all those affected.

In times of unimaginable loss—it’s about coming together as neighbors, as Texans, and as human beings.

In response to the devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country, Spindletop Community Impact Partners, the IADC - International Association of Drilling Contractors Houston Chapter, and the AADE Houston have come together to contribute $60,000 to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund through the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.
The oilfields may surround this part of Texas, but the heartbreak has reached far beyond county lines—touching families and communities across the entire state. As members of Houston’s energy industry, we recognize the responsibility and privilege of standing with our neighbors during their hardest moments.

This collective effort will help fund the nonprofits, first responders, and local agencies working tirelessly on the ground—providing relief, restoring homes, and helping families take their first steps toward recovery.

At the end of the day, it’s about lifting each other up when the weight feels too heavy to bear alone. We hope this contribution helps ease that weight, even if just a little.

Our hearts are with the Hill Country. We are committed to walking beside you as you rebuild, recover, and heal.
