The Collective for Orphan Care and Education - COCE Our mission is to inspire global partnerships to improve the health, education, and well-being of vulnerable populations. https://linktr.ee/cocekenya

We support women and children in gaining the knowledge, power, and tools necessary to lead healthy, safe, and productive lives. Our work centers in Busia County, Kenya. Rural youth, including those orphaned by AIDS, face various challenges such as inadequate nutrition and health care, lack of access to quality education, and risk of exposure to HIV. In a similar vein, women struggle with many cult

ural and social barriers to success such as domestic violence, sexual assault, child marriage, and patriarchal notions of gender roles. Neither Kenya nor the rest of the world can afford for the potential of an entire generation of youth to be undermined by poverty, lack of education, violence, and disease. That is why at COCE, we strive to empower vulnerable members of the community to adopt the skills and talents that their communities - and our world - desperately need. In order to holistically meet the complex needs of local women and children, COCE utilizes a community-driven strength-based approach. The focus is three-fold: (1) expanding their educational opportunities; (2) providing access to comprehensive health information and therapeutic interventions; and (3) increasing recreational and vocational opportunities to empower community members to lead healthy, successful lives.

Education doesn’t change lives only in the classroom, it changes entire communities.

In Busia County, Kenya, many students complete primary school, but far fewer make it to secondary school due to financial barriers, lack of resources, and limited support. Through COCE Kenya, we work to close that gap by supporting students, teachers, and schools with the resources they need to keep students learning and thriving.

When you support education, you support opportunity, health, and economic stability for entire communities.

Today is World AIDS Day.
A day to remember, to honor, and to recommit.
Too many have begun to forget the weight of this disease, but at The Collective for Orphan Care and Education, we live its reality every day. Too many are still becoming infected. Too many mothers are forced into silence. Too many children face a future shaped by stigma rather than support.
For many, an HIV diagnosis means they cannot return home. Stigma, fear, and confusion push countless mothers to skip life-saving medication for themselves and their children. Women and girls continue to bear the greatest burden—and today, 14 million children under the age of 14 are living with HIV, according to the WHO.
Yet there is hope.
Early diagnosis and treatment remain our strongest tools to save lives, protect families, and restore dignity.
On this World AIDS Day, we stand with every mother, every child, every family living in the shadow of HIV. May we continue to fight stigma, expand access to care, and ensure that no one walks this journey alone.

Thanksgiving Message

As we gather in gratitude this season, we are reminded of the profound truth that giving is not truly giving until it costs us something meaningful—a sentiment Mother Teresa captured so beautifully. This year, your gifts of time, treasure, and talent have carried that truth forward in extraordinary ways.

Because of you, our mission to inspire global partnerships and improve the health, education, and well-being of vulnerable populations continues to flourish. Your compassion has helped women and children gain the knowledge, power, and tools they need to lead healthy, safe, and productive lives. Every act of kindness, every hour of service, every shared resource has become part of a larger story of hope and transformation.

During this season of thanks, we want you to know how deeply we appreciate you—our funders, supporters, and volunteers—who stand with us in this work. Your generosity doesn’t just sustain our mission; it makes a lasting impact on lives and communities around the world.

From our hearts to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.
May your homes be filled with peace, warmth, and the joy that comes from knowing you are making a difference.
