Delta Sigma Theta - Houston Alumnae Chapter The Sorority was founded in 1913 by 22 students at Howard University.

These young women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence; to provide scholarships; to provide support to the underserved; educate and stimulate participa The organizational structure and governance of the Sorority is invested in the Grand Chapter, which meets in National Convention biennially. Regional Conferences are held in the seven geographic regions of the organization during non-convention years. In the interim, the Executive Board, consisting of elected and appointed members, acts to establish and implement policies, as needed. A paid professional staff, under the leadership of the Executive Director, operates the National Headquarters office in Washington, D.C.

This month, the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated joins communities everywhere in raising awareness, honoring survivors, remembering those we’ve lost, and standing in support of those currently on their journey.

In recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Houston Alumnae Chapter Wellness was proud to walk alongside our Sorors of Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (HMAC) to bring awareness and support to the fight against childhood cancer.

Every step represented a child, a family, a survivor, and the hope for a future where no family has to face childhood cancer alone.

We are always grateful for opportunities to combine wellness, sisterhood, and service while making an impact in our community.

The Arts & Letters Committee of the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with the Houston Public Library, brought the community together for an unforgettable after-hours celebration of books, art, music, games, and civic engagement!

Guests enjoyed:

🎨 An art walk featuring Pink Lomein
🀄 Mahjong with the Mahjong Soul Sisters and other games
📚 Library resources, including library card sign-ups and information from the African American History Research Center
