❤️ A New Way to Connect With Promise Village Academy
I’m excited to introduce our newly designed PVA Child Sponsorship Program.
For $100 a month/$1,200 a year, a sponsor makes a commitment to walk alongside a PVA student throughout their educational journey, currently through Class 7.
But sponsorship is about more than financial support. It is about connection.
Sponsors will get to know the child they are supporting—their name, their village, their class, and their journey at Promise Village Academy. They will also receive special keepsakes from Tanzania, including a class photograph, an individual photograph, and a handwritten note from their sponsored child. ❤️
Education can change the trajectory of a child's life. And sometimes that change begins with one person saying, “I believe in you, and I’m willing to invest in your future.”
We currently have a limited number of PVA students available for sponsorship.

The photos just keep coming from Promise Village Academy! 🇹🇿❤️
Before our Class 7 students stepped into this very special moment, their PVA family was there to send them off with cheers, raised hands, and lots of love.
I love the photo of our Class 7 students standing proudly with their principal, Irene. And then look at the rest of our students in their red and blue tracksuits, gathered outside to celebrate and encourage them. ❤️💙
This is what makes a school a community. Our younger students are watching those Class 7 students and seeing what they, too, can accomplish one day.
Today, Class 7 gets the cheers.
Tomorrow, another group will stand where they are standing.

🎓 A HISTORIC DAY AT PROMISE VILLAGE ACADEMY! 🎓
Today, we celebrate a milestone that will forever be part of the story of Promise Village Academy—our first Class 7 Graduation! 💙💛
These young men and women have worked hard, persevered, and reached an important milestone in their educational journey. Today was more than a graduation ceremony. It was a celebration of hope, opportunity, family, community, and the promise of what is still to come.
We are incredibly proud of our Class 7 graduates and grateful for the teachers and staff who have taught, encouraged, and walked alongside them. We also thank our parents, families, community members, sponsors, supporters, and friends of PVA who continue to believe in our children and in the power of education.
To our graduates: this is not the end of your journey—it is the beginning of your next chapter. Carry with you everything you have learned, continue to dream big, and never forget that your PVA family will always be cheering for you.

HISTORY MADE AT PROMISE VILLAGE ACADEMY!

Today, we celebrate a milestone that will forever be part of Promise Village Academy's story.

Our very first Standard 7 class has completed their National Examinations! 🎉📚

These students are pioneers. They have grown with PVA, worked hard, persevered, and have now become the first graduating class in our school’s history to reach this important academic milestone.

We are incredibly proud of each of them—and deeply grateful to the teachers, staff, families, sponsors, and supporters who have walked alongside them.

To our Standard 7 students: You did it! ❤️

You have shown the younger students following behind you what is possible. You will begin Form 1 in January. Work hard, stay focused, and remember that the teachers at PVA will always support you. The secondary school will be built and ready for your return for Form 2 in 2028; we can't wait to welcome you back.

As I prepare to board my flight to Tanzania in just a few hours, here's one final Maasai Fun Fact before this year's journey begins!

Did you know that the traditional Maasai jumping dance is called Adumu?

Contrary to popular belief, the dance isn't about competition—it's a celebration of strength, endurance, unity, and pride. During ceremonies, young Maasai warriors jump straight into the air without a running start, demonstrating balance, confidence, and athleticism. The higher the jump, the greater the admiration from the community.

It's an incredible tradition that has been passed down through generations and remains one of the most recognizable symbols of Maasai culture.

This concludes our Maasai Fun Fact series, but the adventure is just beginning!

🇹🇿 Promise Village Academy Board Members Experience Tanzania ❤️

One of the greatest strengths of Promise Village Academy is that our Board members don't simply make decisions from afar—they come to Tanzania to experience the mission firsthand.

During their visit, our Board members have the opportunity to:
🩵 Visit with members of the Maasai community and learn about their traditions and culture.
🦒 Experience Tanzania's incredible wildlife and natural beauty.
🏫 Spend time at Promise Village Academy with our students, teachers, and staff, gaining a deeper understanding of the work being accomplished every day.

These experiences help our Board better understand our children's needs, celebrate the progress being made, and envision the future of Promise Village Academy.

Every visit strengthens our commitment to providing quality education, hope, and opportunity for the children we serve.

Thank you to our Board members for your dedication, your willingness to serve, and your hearts for the children of Tanzania.

🏡 Tanzania Fun Fact #8: Maasai Women Build the Homes

Did you know that in traditional Maasai culture, it is the women who build the family homes?

Known as manyattas, these homes are carefully constructed using sticks, mud, grass, and cow dung—materials gathered from the surrounding land. More than just shelters, they are symbols of family, resilience, and community.

As I prepare to return to Tanzania on June 29 (TOMORROW!!!), I'm reminded that some of life's greatest lessons come from seeing how different cultures work together. Every member of the community has an important role, and together they create something lasting.

I can't wait to be back with our Promise Village Academy family and continue sharing the incredible people, traditions, and stories that make Tanzania so special.
