One of the reasons GRRH does Meet and Greets at Orvis locations in and around the Houston area is not only for outreach of our program, but to help people understand that if someone is in need of rehoming their dog due to “Life Circumstances”, we can help!
Specific Breed Rescue Intake Coordinators along with other rescue volunteers in the Houston area have made great relationships with county shelters and continually get contacted to see if we can help with many of the dogs coming into their facilities. None of us are equipped to take them all….but together we all can help. If you or someone you know is struggling with the decision to possibly rehome a pet, Please consider a Rescue. We never judge on circumstances and we do everything we can to place the dog in another wonderful home!

Today we celebrate a truly special member of the GRRH family!

As a dedicated member or our Adoption Team, Sherri is the definition of a Rescue Heart. She tirelessly advocates for her Approved Adopters while always keeping the best interests of our Goldens at the center of every decision.

And yes… we may have a habit of sending her the quirky applications because we know she can handle them with patience, wisdom, and a sense of humor! 😊

The countless Goldens whose lives have been changed through your hard work are incredibly lucky to have you in their corner. Thank you for your compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to helping every dog find the loving home they deserve.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by our Silent Auction during the baseball game and helped make the evening such a success!

From bidding on signed bobbleheads and our one-of-a-kind autographed GRRH t-shirt, to stopping by to learn more about rescue, fostering, volunteering, and adoption, the support from our community was incredible. We enjoyed so many wonderful conversations and met countless dog lovers who share our passion for helping Golden Retrievers.

Every dollar raised helps us continue the best mission ever—giving Golden Retrievers a second chance and helping them find the forever loving homes where they can live out their dreams.

Special thanks to our volunteers, donors, bidders, and everyone who shared our story throughout the evening. Your generosity and support truly make a difference in the lives of the dogs we serve.

Taylor Here…..Have You Forgotten About Me? 💔

I’m still here…..still waiting…..still hoping my person is out there somewhere. I’m a youngster -just shy of 2 years old but I really am not the “Social Butterfly” when it comes to other dogs.

I’ve been working hard, learning new things, and trying my very best every single day. I love my people with my whole heart, but I’ll need a family who understands that I’m still a work in progress.

I’m strong, handsome, playful, and full of personality. I’ll make you laugh, keep you busy, and love you fiercely. I may steal a sock or two and turn it into a game of chase, but that’s just part of my charm. 😉

What I really want is a forever home with Patience, Structure and someone willing to see past my “rough edges” to the amazing dog underneath.
