On Auaust 19.2026. at aoproximatelu 11:21 PM,IL Treoper Teddy Hendersen, traveling westbound on Highway 8, and Iobserved a radar reading on rehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 18 -rossina the Bia Lake bridae at 82MPH in c 60MPHzone.I engaged my blue lights before he passed me, and I began to turn around in the roddway -to conduct a traffic stop. As I made a U-turn, the suspect vehiclc passed me and immediately accelerated. guickly switched my front moving radar t away" so I could observe his speed while tried to catch up to him. which was initiall 113MPH when I got my radar on him, The suspect vehicle speed quickly increased to 30MPH. I called my traffic stop out on m radio and advised that I was in pursuit of fleeing vehicle. I then engaged my siren. was consistently going 130MPH to 140+MPH to catch up, I finally closed the gap between me and the suspect vehicle on Highwat 18 at the Dell Power Plant, at which point Mississippi County deputies and Blytheville fficers were notified, and they wer staging just west of Blytheville, inside the ity limits, to set up spike strips. As we wen through Dell, the suspect passed a vehicle on the right as he approached them a 130MPHAs we were approaching Blytheville, Inoticed police units staged at County Roac 239 on the north side of Hiahwau 18. so backed off from the suspect vehicle for Blytheville to deploy spike strips, which they did successfully, Once spiked, the suspec ehicle continued at a high rate of speec and ran the red light at Highway 18 an, Highway 151, then immediately decelerate due -to his front driver tire losing air ausing him to drift into the westbound lanes. I moved in for a TVI (tactical vehicle ntervention) to immobilize the vehicl The first TVI was a failed attempt and the suspect started driving again, north towards N16th St. As the vehicle approgched N 16th St,I attempted another [VI and pushed the vehicle up N 16th St ind immobilized the vehicle by pushing i over a curb just south of Walnut St. At this point, I had several Blytheville officers and a Gosnellofficer out with me as the TV occurred.
As I exited my vehicle, I noticed the driver, Adonerus Johnson, crawling out of the driver's seat into the back seat ang atterpting to open the rear passenge, side dcor to-flee on foot. Officer Liles wit Gosnell PD +tased Johnson as he tried t walk past Officer Hallmark (lytheville PD who had Johnson at gunpoint, After he wa tased, he continued to resist by withholding his hands and was drive-stunned by Office iles until he finally complied and was taker nto custody by Officer Liles and Office Hallmark, As officers dealt with Johnsor was giving verbal commands to the bach seat passenger (Tedrick Washington) on the driver's side to get out of the vehic. to which he responded by simply staring at me,then looking away, I pulled on the door handle too pen the door and wa insuccessful. I then deploued mu baton busted out the window. and beoan aivina him commands to crawl out Washing ton would stare at me and state that he couldn't get out, even after I created a pathway for hin to crawl outby busting the window, I tolo Nashing ton several times to crawl out th window without success, so I grabbed his left vrist and a handful of his hair and bega bullina him in an attempt to persuade him to rawl out with my assistance, which he still refused to do,
Nashington attempted to pull his arm awar from my grasp twice, then the door partially popped open as I was truing t opull him out of the window, With the small gap in the ope loor and the fact that I was not going t give Washing ton any control of his left hanc by letting go of him, for safety reasons, continued to give him commands to crawl ou the window, Washington continued to brack against the door with his right hand as I Pulled on his le-ft arm while he was bent over through the window, then when I let go o nis hair for a moment, Washington posture up and it appeared as if he was preparing to strike with his right hand, so I quickly struck him once in the left side of his face with o closed fist, Washington then turned awa from me and pulled away from me agai is he backed out of the smal gap in the door. As he exposed his body from bchind the door, I let go of his left wrist so his arm ould go through the door, then I grabbec his upper body and tock Washington to the ground, Once on the ground, Washingto continued to tense up his arms and pulled iway as Officer Liles (Gosnell PD) and tried to aain control of his left hanc Nashington's right arm was tucked unde nis head while he lay on the ground facd down. Officer Liles was on Washington's left side, and he managed to eventually work Nashing ton's left hand from underneat his body, but Washing ton was still pulling eainst Officer Liles as we gave command to give us his hands, so I struck Washington in the left cheek again, still not causing him to comply Once we gained control o Nashington's left hand, I was able to place a handcuff on the left wrist, then w. sttempted to gain control of Washington eft hand, which was now tucked under th right side of his head and tensed up as he lay on his right side
Hf ficer Liles was able-to -force Washingtor nto a face-down position again so that could turn Washing ton's right arm an place it behind his back and get him fully randcuffed, As I pulled his right hand tohi: lower back, Washing ton was actively pulling sgainst me again prior to arrest. The fron seat passenger, Merrendes Jackson, was Arrested upon contact and complied witl all commands to exit the vehicle with hi? rands up; he was later released without an harges, The vehicle belonged to Jackson': mother. The vehicle was towed by Diamon fowing out of Blytheville.T he driver adonerus Iohnson. was transported to th Mississippi County Sheriff's Of-fice. whorc read him his Arkansas DWI Statement of Rights, He signed off and agreed to provid breath samples-for BAC (blood alcohol content), Johnson blew a 0,17on BAC. wel above the legal limit, He was booked and charged with Speeding More than 15 MPH Over the Limit, Reckless Driving, Fleeing (Felony)-Vehicle or Conveyance, DWI 1st, Resisting Arrest, Unauthorized Use of Another Person's Property to Facilitate a Felonu No Seatbelt, Failure to Stop at Rec Light, and Improper Passing on Right. The packseat passenger, Tedrick Washingtor was arrested and transported -to M1CSO as woll whoro ho was bookod and charood with Olbstruction of Governmental Operation: and Resisting Arrest.
