Hallo, Welt!
Hello, World!

Nuremberg 2028: A Worldcon for the Next Era

Central Europe hasn’t hosted a Worldcon since 1970. It’s time to begin a new era!

We believe we can make 2028 an unforgettable experience: a Worldcon rooted in Central Europe, open to the World. Our vision is to bring fans into the heart of the German SF scene while genuinely embracing Central Europe as a whole.

We aim to highlight the rich and often underrepresented traditions of Czech and Polish fandom and to welcome fans from across the region into a truly international celebration.

We are sorry to announce that David Brummel, a long-time Houston fan, SCAdian, and ApolloCon concom member, died late last week, in Clear Lake.

A memorial gathering is planned but not finalized. Details will be announced later.

If you would like to send flowers, cards, or email to Emily Egan, his wife, but do not have her addresses, please contact [email protected] for details.

If you would like to make a charitable donation in David’s memory, Emily suggests Corvid Isle, in the UK. She says that David really liked ravens, crows and other corvids, and visited the UK frequently, especially Scotland. The Corvid Isle donation page is linked in the comments.

David gave ApolloCon the valued gifts of his time, his technical skills, his confidence, and his support. He will be greatly missed.

For any further information, please contact [email protected]

Corvid Isle is a small non-for-profit organisation and corvid sanctuary based in the South of England. The Corvid Isle team is committed to the principles of holistic nonviolence. We…

Murder by the Book has been a friend to this Con for many years, and has a great slate of SFF authors coming through for readings, signings, etc. Consider supporting their recovery if you have the resources.

One of Houston's independent bookstores took a hit from this week's flooding, and the staff is seeking support. Murder By The Book is still open and, for the time being, all author appearances are still on the schedule. But the floor's a mess right now, and the store has lost sales and traffic all w…

Hello ApolloCon Friends,

We know you are eager to know what’s happening with ApolloCon in 2016. Here’s what we know right now: the Houston Science Fiction Association (HSFA) will not be hosting ApolloCon in 2016.

We’re looking forward to our future events and hope that we can stay connected with you throughout the next year. We know that this news may be a disappointment, but we are looking for your support in making our events even better going forward.

HSFA is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to bringing our larger science fiction, fantasy, and horror community together. We have a wide range of options available to us and we are exploring new opportunities for celebrating our common interests. Please have patience while we update our social media and websites with new information.

If you’d like to help us bring exciting SFF activities to our community in coming months, or if you’d like to hear more about what we are planning, please sign up for our mailing list at http://eepurl.com/bM_LWz. Event planning meetings are open to the public and we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for your support of ApolloCon.
See you soon.
