The Missouri City Pops - Community Band

The Missouri City Pops - Community Band The Missouri City Pops community band was formed in 1987 on the premise that music and the enjoyment of it is far too important to be left to professionals.

The Missouri City Pops invites adult former band musicians of any level to rehearse Monday evenings at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany 9600 S Gessner Rd, Houston, TX 77071 These enthusiastic amateurs have been performing ever since at schools, nursing homes, malls, Church halls, and public parks. The Missouri City Pops provides adult musicians an opportunity to pick up the instruments left be

hind in their youth, and rekindle their love for making music. It is their goal to bring Music out into our community. Our music director is Linda Stiegler. Originally from Maryland, Linda majored in Instrumental Music with a violin major and trombone minor at McDaniel College. She taught band and orchestra in Maryland for two years before moving to Saudi Arabia where she taught at the British/Dutch Elementary school in Jubail. Returning to the USA in 1986, Linda relocated to Texas. Linda teaches band at Welch Middle School and loves starting kids on their journey into music. The Missouri City Pops rehearse every Monday from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 9600 South Gessner Rd. Houston TX 77071. Membership is open to all adult former band musicians of any level. No dues. No audition. Just fun. We are a non-profit organization.
