Earlier today, crew members from Firehouse 23 along with Marcelo’s brother-in-law, Kenny, and his crew completed the area where Marcelo’s memorial sits in front of the station.
Kenny and his skilled crew did an amazing job with this and Firehouse 23 wants to send our gratitude to them!

Firehouse 23 had two visitors come by all the way from New Caledonia.
Cyril Barbe and his girlfriend, Charlotte Da Ros, have been in Houston for the past two weeks to enjoy FIFA 26 and watch France dominate so far.
New Caledonia is a French territory that consists of a few islands 750 miles east of Australia.
New Caledonia population equals approximately 265,000 people.
If you’re from the Houston area, that is close to the population of Katy, TX.
They were amazed by how cool our station is on the inside and have had nothing but good things to say about Houston.
Cyril works in IT for his fire department back home and is also a volunteer firefighter for the same department.
We sent him home with our HFD and Firehouse 23 patches, and some food recommendations before they fly back to New Caledonia on Friday.
Just some HFD Hospitality!
We love when we get visitors whether they’re from the USA or any other country!

Today, we added this beautiful boulder at Firehouse 23 in honor of our brother, Marcelo “OX” Garcia III.
Thank you to BoulderDesigns.net for this amazing memorial.
Firehouse 23 plans to beautify this area once the weather permits.
We have more projects around the station to memorialize our fallen brother. Stay tuned.
