A handful of our club members traveled to Kingsport, TN last week to participate in the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel National Specialty. If you’ve never attended a national event you don’t know what you’re missing. From conformation events to sporting events, to health seminars, to rescue events, fundraisers and so much more…

Left to right:

Julie Fitzpatrick placed 4th with Piper in Amateur Owner Handler in the national specialty and placed 2nd in the independent specialty.

Kara Valera received an Award of Merit with Masha along with an invitation to show at Crufts in 2027 & 2028. Kara also showed Ember, Masha’s daughter. Ember placed 4th in a very large class of bred by puppies.

Brandi Sutten placed 3rd in puppy sweeps with Wynn and 2nd in the 9-12 month national specialty.

*we had several other members attend - they just weren’t in these photos we had taken after the last show

Next year the national specialty will be April 19-23, 2027 in Virginia Beach.

For those of you who are (or have been) Brittmoore clients, Dr. Dikeman is retiring. We wish him all the very best in this exciting, alarm-and-phone-free new chapter, and he’s definitely going to be missed. 💙

In Loving Memory of John Newton
Beloved Husband of Mickie Newton

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Newton on July 2, 2025, after a long illness. John was the devoted husband of Mickie Newton, and for many years they were both very active, dedicated members of the CKCSCGH, as well as the guiding hands behind the many lovely TommiJohn Cavaliers.

A memorial service to honor John’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, at Schmidt Funeral Home, located at 1344 West Grand Parkway South, Katy, TX 77494.

• Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM

• Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with a reception immediately after the service

Our Cavalier friends are invited to attend and help celebrate John’s life, share memories, and support Mickie during this time of loss.
