We’re VADO, a nonprofit created for young Vietnamese Americans who want to build, grow, and make a difference.

Houston Vietnamese American Community Development is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and enriching the lives of the Vietnamese American community in the Greater Houston area. Founded on the principles of community engagement, cultural preservation, and socio-economic advancement, HVACD serves as a catalyst for positive change and holistic development within the Vietnamese America

At HVACD, we believe in fostering a strong sense of unity, identity, and pride among Vietnamese Americans while addressing the unique challenges and opportunities they face in their journey toward prosperity and integration. Through a variety of programs, initiatives, and partnerships, we strive to create a supportive ecosystem that promotes education, economic empowerment, civic participation, and cultural heritage preservation. Our organization works tirelessly to provide vital resources, services, and advocacy efforts that uplift individuals and families, promote social cohesion, and contribute to the overall well-being and vibrancy of the Vietnamese American community. Whether through educational workshops, language classes, job training, or cultural events, HVNACD is committed to building a stronger, more resilient, and thriving community for generations to come.

RECAP | HANDS FOR COMMUNITY – CHARITY OUTREACH TRIP

Through Hands for Community, VADO was honored to visit and support three community locations in Ho Chi Minh City: Binh An Compassion Shelter – Binh An Pagoda, Vi Hoang Charity Elderly Home, and 0 VND Boarding House.

During this outreach, we delivered 160 essential care packages and 50,000,000 VND in direct financial support to individuals and families in need.

This was a meaningful reminder that even small acts of care can bring comfort, connection, and hope to the community.

At Nhà trọ 0đ (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), low-income families and individuals are provided temporary housing and support during difficult times.

For many, stability is fragile, and everyday essentials can be a challenge to secure. Through Hands for Community, we’re bringing care packages filled with practical necessities to help residents manage daily life with greater ease and security.
