Amigos de las Américas: Youth Ambassadors Program The Youth Ambassadors Program is a leadership development, cultural exchange and community service p

AMIGOS Youth Ambassadors study community development, civic engagement, and leadership theories and practice through a three-week International Training. During their International Training, participants learn about and engage with US and South American history and culture through host family stays, service work with US and South American peers, and visits to cultural and historic sites. The Inter

national Training provides Youth Ambassadors with hands on experience in the design and implementation of community-based development projects. After retunring home from the International Training, participants carry out community-based initiatives in their home communities. Through their participantion in the program, Youth Ambassadors gain leadship skills to become civic activists in their home communities and support other youth in developing these skills.
