The past few days have been incredibly difficult for our rescue.
In just THREE days, we’ve taken on approximately $3,500 in veterinary expenses to give two very special dogs the chance they deserve.
🐾 Miller is fighting for his second chance.
When Miller came to us, he was severely emaciated and in desperate need of medical care. Yesterday, he underwent surgery to remove an eye, was neutered, and had a growth removed.
He made it through surgery, but his recovery is only beginning. He now needs time, nourishment, and compassionate care to regain his strength and health.
🐾 Pearl is fighting to stay alive.
After doing beautifully for the past month, everything changed on Sunday.
Pearl suddenly went into respiratory distress. She was seen at TWO emergency veterinary hospitals before being hospitalized at Bay City Vet.
Her heartworm disease has complicated everything, despite the care and effort being given to save her.
As of this morning, Pearl is still not stable. Her estimated chance of survival is just 40%.
But Pearl is still fighting.
And as long as she is fighting, we are not ready to give up on her.
This is where our community can make a life-saving difference.
We’re launching a special $5 FRIDAY FOR MILLER & PEARL this week.
Our hope is that hundreds of people will come together to give just $5.
Five dollars may feel small on its own. But when many people give what they can, those small gifts become emergency care, surgery, hospitalization, medication, and hope.
