Dead in sin. Following the culture, the flesh, and our own thoughts. Nothing to bring. And then two words change the whole story. ✨

Andy Hovis pointed out what Paul doesn't say: "Notice that Paul does not tell his friends, good thinking, guys, you finally figured it out." Salvation didn't start with our insight or our effort. It started with God — rich in mercy, moved by great love, stepping in while we were still dead.

If you've been trying to climb your way to God, this is good news: he already came down. 🙏

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved." — Ephesians 2:4–5

There’s a difference between knowing about God and truly knowing God. 🤍

In Ephesians 1:17, Paul’s prayer isn’t simply that believers would gain more information about God—it’s that they would know Him more deeply and personally.
Faith is more than head knowledge. It’s a growing relationship with the God who invites us to know Him.

“...that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him.” — Ephesians 1:17
