The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Culture of Health Prize celebrates communities like ours across the country where people and organizations are collaborating to build positive solutions to barriers that have created unequal opportunities for health and wellbeing. We are proud and acknowledge our fellow prize winners: Communities for Better Health, Acres Homes Community Advocacy Group, Northeast Houston Redevelopment Council, and Ivy Leaf Farms. Today, our team of community health workers (CHWs) are supporting residents through the COVID-CARE project at Booker T. Washington’s Parade and Family/Class Reunion. CHWs are assisting attending residents by connecting them to health-promoting resources (e.g., food assistance, rental assistance, and mental health/social services) and assessing the continued impact of COVID-19.
