Please join us in keeping this family and the Dixon Rural Fire District in your prayers through this.

With deep sorrow and regret, we announce the passing of one of our own. Firefighter Matt Honse passed away on 10/14/2026 in a tragic accident along side his wife.
We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as well as his brothers and sisters in the fire service.

As crazy as it sounds, yes we may have our first frost Saturday morning.

The one we've all been waiting on, first freeze and frost for virtually all of Missouri is possible Saturday. The exception looks to be far portions of SEMO where lows reach around 40⁰. Afternoon highs next Sunday will only be in the 50⁰s to near 60⁰

A special thanks to the TCERT volunteers that came out to the big fire in Success yesterday!

We should start getting some rainfall this evening and over the next couple of days. It doesn’t look to be a lot but right now we will take everything we can get.

10/11/2026

A warm and dry air mass will combine with gusty southwesterly winds resulting in elevated fire weather conditions developing across the area today and Monday.

Please take extra care with any fire or sparks the next couple of days. The fire danger is high.
