ICE has kidnapped 3 of our union siblings IBEW Local 60, IBEW Local 520, and TSEU/CWA 6186 members!

We must act on these attacks the working class is facing and organize within our unions to demand release of our siblings.

If you can please donate to their fundraiser links on slide 2! An injury to one is an injury to all.

🧊🚨 ICE in Texas kidnapped two union electricians, Brian and Keyla—help us bring them home!

⚡️Brian is a refugee from Columbia and proud IBEW member. He was kidnapped by ICE last week during a routine asylum check. Brian has an asylum hearing scheduled for March 4th in Pearsall, TX, next door to Dilley Detention Center. The judge has an 84% denial rate. Without public pressure, he is likely to lace deportation. His tamily is seeking financial support for legal fees and daily expenses while Brian is detained.

⚡️Keyla immigrated from Honduras to the US. She became an electrician with IBEW Local 60, supporting ner mother and two children. Early this year, ICE kidnapped Keyla while her application for residency was in process. She is currently being held at Karnes Detention Center in Karnes City, Texas. Her last court date was on February 17th. Keyla requires support for legal fees.

Happy MLK Day to workers everywhere.

In the spirit of this day, Houston YALL is issuing a clear statement, consistent with the AFL-CIO: kidnapping, extrajudicial seizure, arbitrary detention, murder and state violence must never be normalized as policy — abroad or here at home.

We stand for working families, workers’ rights, due process, and the rule of law. When people are treated as disposable, working people lose safety, stability, and power.

Imperial ambition has real consequences. After the seizure of President Nicolás Maduro, President Trump said the U.S. would “run the country.” We reject any doctrine that treats sovereign nations as property and working people as collateral damage.

We have seen this pattern before. Intervention so often means labor repression — imprisonment, disappearance, assassination, exile, and the crushing of organizers. Guatemala and Chile are just two of numerous examples.

And it is happening here too. On January 7, 2026, an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis during an immigration operation. In the wake of that killing, the DHS’s “Operation Metro Surge” has involved warrantless arrests, excessive force, and constitutional violations. No one should die — or have their rights trampled — under the pretense of immigration enforcement.

This climate hurts workers and their families.
Recent policy choices also harm families. DHS has moved to terminate TPS protections for Venezuelans (including the Venezuela 2021 designation), stripping stability and work authorization from families and deepening fear and exploitation.

It should be obvious that this is not an endorsement of Nicolás Maduro or his government. It is a principled labor stance against repression and for sovereignty, due process, safety, and solidarity — because workers’ rights depend on it.

🌟 Introducing HTX YALL (Young Active Labor Leaders – Houston)! 🌟

We’re rebuilding and relaunching a space for young, pro-labor, Houston-area workers to plug in, learn, and lead. ✊🏽

HTX YALL will be a place to:

- connect young union members and worker leaders across Houston,

- build real skills (organizing, communications, political action),

- support local labor campaigns, and

- grow the next generation of labor leadership in our city.

We’ve just elected our leadership team and we’re already getting plugged into campaigns and coalitions to support workers — but we need your support!

👉 Drop a comment or DM us if you want to get involved, collaborate with us, add folks to the list, or get the details on our next meeting.
