The Lellow Foundation The Lellow Foundation supports economically disadvantaged children with special needs Lellow is named after Uncle Johnny who had Down Syndrome.

His favorite color was "lellow." Our goal is to help bridge the gap for children who do not have access to resources and services available due to their economic status. The Lellow Foundation considers a special need as any learning difficulty, physical challenge, or behavioral/emotional difficulty. Meet the heart behind Lellow. 💛

If you knew Uncle Johnny, you knew he had a way of making people smile. He loved to color, watch TV, practice his karate chop, and sing along to his favorite songs. He had a big personality, a lot of love to give, and a special way of making the people around him feel loved.

His favorite color was “lellow,” and that little detail became the name of something much bigger.

Uncle Johnny passed away in 2013, but his joy and the love he brought to his family continue to inspire The Lellow Foundation. His story is a reminder of why we do what we do.

Today, we carry his legacy forward by helping children with special needs access the resources and opportunities they deserve. Because every child deserves to be seen, supported, and given the chance to shine.

Uncle Johnny is where Lellow began. His love is what keeps us going.

The Lellow Foundation was created to ensure that a child’s potential is never limited by their family’s financial circumstances.

Every day, children with special needs are met with barriers that make it harder to access the educational support and resources they deserve. At Lellow, we are committed to changing that.

We partner with families, educators, and trusted organizations to provide research based academic intervention for students and essential resources for Special Education classrooms in Houston area Title I schools. By investing in children, we are investing in brighter futures, stronger communities, and opportunities that can last a lifetime.

Our name comes from Uncle Johnny, whose favorite color was “lellow.” His joy, kindness, and love for others continue to inspire everything we do.

At our core, Lellow is about creating opportunities, removing barriers, and believing in every child’s ability to thrive.

Big smiles, busy hands, and brand-new materials in action. These incredible students are putting their For Schools grant to work! 💛📚

Through our For Schools program, The Lellow Foundation funds low-income special education classrooms across the Houston area, supporting requests that range from classroom furniture and technology to essential basics like crayons, glue, and math manipulatives.

So far this school year, we’ve funded nearly $16,000 in classroom needs, and we’re only halfway through our applications. That means even more impact is still to come.

We’re on track to close out our biggest school year of giving yet, and we couldn’t be more proud to support the teachers and students who make this work so meaningful 💛

Our annual holiday drive was one for the books! This year, *31 families of children with special needs* went home with gifts, smiles, and maybe a little extra holiday cheer. 🎁💛

There was joy, laughter, and that warm fuzzy feeling that reminds us why this season hits different. It was a truly special day—and we’re so grateful to be part of a community that makes moments like this happen.

VOLUNTEER SHOUT OUT

This weekend, our annual Holiday Drive wrapped 31 incredible families of kids with special needs in love, joy, and holiday cheer and it was all because of YOU.

To every volunteer who showed up with a smiling face and an open heart: thank you. Whether you purchased items from our wishlist, wrapped gifts, collected towels, blankets, and diapers, loaded cars, baked desserts, took photos, dressed up in costume, delivered gifts, or donated your precious time, you made this magic possible.

Thank you to ✨Spring Branch Christian Fellowship✨ for graciously opening your church doors and giving us a place to gather, serve, and celebrate.

From telling jokes and spreading laughter to bringing comfort, dignity, and joy to families in need, you helped our Lellow Light shine brighter than ever. 💫

We are endlessly grateful for this village. Together, you turned compassion into action and made the holidays a little warmer for so many 💛

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s Johnny Jam fundraiser unforgettable! Whether you joined us at the event, volunteered your time, made a donation, or sponsored our cause, your generosity made all the difference. Because of you, our programs can continue to grow and make a lasting impact right here in the Houston community.
