Look at one of our most special success stories! Juanita was diagnosed with autism at 2 1/2 years old, was non-verbal until she was 3 1/2 years old. She displayed extreme behaviors due to her limited speech and inability to express herself. She recieved her first years of formal instruction in the PPCD program for children with disabilities. She received speech therapy, and a small intensive learning environment. In-Home Parent Training was also provided to her family to help provide a strong structured environment with visual rich supports. She is now a magnet student in all general education classes blazing trails! Parents: if you have a child receiving special education services, the one time grant of 1,500 dollars is now open through TEA. There are many services and items you can get for child. If you need assistance. Reach out to us for assistance. Open Hearts Family Services will be partnering with community stakeholders to host an awesome STEM and Maritime Camp. We will provide three cohorts for ages 8-12, 13-17, 18-22. More details to follow!

Hello Office of County Judge Lina Hidalgo Rodney Ellis The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD We are a non-partisan non-profit organization helping individuals with disabilities. We understand the importance of fulfilling our civic duty of voting as many of our individuals with disabilities depend on state and federal assistance to support their needs. Unfortunately, these past few years in the State of Texas, HCS funding has been limited to help our caregivers and disabled population. We understand that as public entities you all are being blocked the Texas attorney general to encourage people to vote. We want to continue to advocate for our population to vote and will pick up the slack in helping spread the word to encourage people. We owe it to our vast special needs population in the greater Houston area to advocate for more funding for their needs which has been impacted due to limited funding from Texas government.
