Long time no see, HPOP family and supporters!

The pandemic kept us away from the stage for a few years and, oh, how we’ve missed you! That’s why we are so excited to announce that HPOP is back and continuing its mission to create purposeful art!

This time around, we are leveling up and partnering with Austin-based film and television production company Markfinder Media to produce our first live-action short film! Yes, you read that right! Houston Play On Purpose Founder, President and Playwright Holly Charles-Pearson has written and will direct the alternate history short film If They Took Us Back, which goes into production January 2024.

Now, we are looking to cast the film with the most talented actors and creatives in the region. As we prepare for auditions in both Houston and Austin, we encourage you to share the following casting details with your networks, friends, local actors and social media followers.
