🐾 Meet Everett! 🐾

At just 4 months old, Everett is a curious, playful, social little guy who’s always ready to investigate whatever you’re doing. He loves toys, exploring, and running up to greet his people! 🖤🤍

He likes a tiny bit of independence, but he’s still incredibly affectionate and loves being part of the action.

And his favorite hobby? TOE CHOMPING. 🦶😂 Especially toes with bright nail polish—apparently Everett thinks they’re jelly beans and would very much like to sample the merchandise.

🖤🤍 Meet Miles! 🤍🖤

At just 4 months old, Miles has already perfected the art of making everyone around him feel ridiculously loved. And by a little love, we mean an unreasonable amount of affection. 😂

Miles is the ultimate love bug. He loves being held, wants to be wherever his people are, and will happily rub his little face all over yours to make sure you know you’re officially his person. 🥹

He’s social, playful, curious, and completely people-oriented. He’s not just looking for a house—he wants to be your couch buddy, shadow, personal space invader, and tiny tuxedo best friend. 🐾

Miles and his brother Everett were sadly dumped together at a gas station. They’ve been side by side ever since and would absolutely love to find a home together. 🖤

Sometimes, rescuing means ending suffering. Sadly, that’s what rescue looked like this morning.

Sunday night, employees at the PetSmart where we have our adoption cattery reached out about a cat lying along the side of the building who wasn’t moving. They told us he had been there for most of the day. The area was infested with mosquitos.

When we went to check on him, it was immediately clear that something was wrong. We will never know exactly what happened to him, but it does seem likely he was hit by a car.

Thankfully FixUrPet was able to squeeze him in first thing this morning. It was determined that his injuries were too severe for him to have any quality of life. We were able to give him a peaceful end.

We may not have been able to save his life, but we were able to make sure he didn’t have to suffer any longer or die alone.

We cannot do this work without our donors. When an animal like this appears unexpectedly and needs immediate veterinary care, we’re able to say yes because people choose to support our rescue. Your donations don't only help the animals whose happy endings we get to celebrate. They also allow us to be there for the ones whose only happy ending is a peaceful, dignified goodbye.

❤️ A happy tail update to start the week out right ❤️

Aliyah and her family adopted both of their kitties from HPPL in 2020 and 2021. She even has pics of the kitties while they were at the Petsmart cattery, where she volunteers with us now 😻

Aliyah reports that a typical day for Ginger and Toffee (formerly Flynn and Cameow) includes lots of sleeping and when they aren’t sleeping they are either chasing each other around (it's more like one sided chasing) or they are getting into trouble. They are the sweetest especially when they are tired they come and snuggle with her anywhere and everywhere.

"Ginger loves playing with string and pipe cleaners, he’ll drag it over to you like a puppy so you can play with him. And my Toffee cat is not the brightest penny in the box but she will always come running when she sees people eating, we call her table food toffee. (She’s also a silent lurker whereas you can certainly hear when my other cat is coming😂) "

When asked how her kitties have impacted her life, Aliyah shared the following: "My cats have given me great companionship and comfort especially during hard times. They also have brought me so many tears of laughter with their antics and a few good lectures from my mom when they try and dig in her plants. "

Us-"Buster can you please sit still or at least sit up so we can take a cute picture of you for your adoption profile?"
Him-"Not a chance"

Buster is the KING of headbutts 👑! As you can see he can't help himself from flopping over and making air biscuits. This guy had a rough start to life- he recently had all of his teeth pulled (except the adorable tiny front top ones) due to stomatitis. Prior to being in our care, he couldn't groom very well due to mouth pain, hence his full body shave right now. Imagine what this beautiful fluffy boy will look like once that hair grows out!

He also had a horrible ear infection while he was roughing it on the streets and has a permanently folded over ear as a result. Now that he is all fixed up he is ready for a home where he can headbutt, make his air biscuits and snuggle with his forever family.

Mama Socks is so thankful that all four of her precious babies have found their forever homes! 😸 Now, she is patiently waiting for someone to come along and recognize how deserving she is for the love and care she selflessly gave to her kittens. Due to her softhearted and nurturing personality, she gets along wonderfully with other cats and effortlessly makes everyone fall for her.
