🎥 A huge thank you to KPRC 2 for featuring The Restoration Team and helping us celebrate a major milestone—our 500th family served.

What started as a roof repair for Mr. Pierre became a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together to help a neighbor in need.

And we're just getting started. Our goal is to serve 100 families annually by 2028, bringing more homeowners the safety, dignity, and peace of mind they deserve.

Ms. Lewis’s story is one we don’t take lightly.

Behind every moment we show up, there’s a real life, a real need, and a story that deserves to be heard. And when we get to step into that space, into the hard, the heavy, the long-waited-for help, it changes something in all of us.

These are the stories that stay with us. The ones that remind us why we do this work. Why we keep showing up. Why love in action matters.

This is more than just service. It’s presence. It’s care. It’s hope, restored. One home, one moment, one story at a time.

We had the privilege of working with Ms. Mary and her family, and her story has stayed with us ever since.

Mary is a devoted mother to her son, a talented football player with big dreams. Her home has always been the center of their life together, a place built on love, resilience, and faith.

When we met Mary, she had already been through significant hardship. After two major spinal surgeries, she was no longer able to return to work. Despite pursuing disability benefits, she was ultimately denied after a long and difficult process.

Even in the middle of uncertainty, she continued to do everything she could for her son and their home.

We were able to step in and complete work on her home during that season, helping restore stability and safety for her family.

Mary’s strength, perseverance, and deep commitment to her family is what inspires us to do this work everyday!

"A miracle!" that’s often what it feels like when we step into places where a need has been present for a long time.

And the truth is, we don’t have to wait for big, extraordinary moments to be the hands and feet of Jesus. It happens in the steady, everyday ways we show up:
When we listen to someone who feels unseen
When we meet practical needs without hesitation
When we offer comfort in the middle of crisis
When we show up consistently, long after others have moved on
When we choose compassion over convenience
Sometimes it’s relief. Sometimes it's restoring a home. Sometimes it’s presence. Sometimes it’s simply staying.

This is what it looks like to love our neighbors well, and every small act becomes part of something much bigger.

Home #500 is officially in progress, and it’s already come a long way!

âś” Roof: complete
âś” Windows: fully funded + installed
âś” Siding repair: funded
âś” Exterior Paint funded

Now we move inside… and this is where we need your help.

We’re currently raising support for:
• Flooring throughout the home
• Drywall + insulation
• Interior paint
• Cabinets + doors
• Bathroom plumbing

Every single one of these pieces turns an empty structure into a safe, livable home.

We're looking for sponsors for each of these elements.

Can you sponsor the kitchen? Or the laundry room? Or what about the bathroom?

Rain uncertainty didn’t stop this team from showing up to serve today. 💙

Today, volunteers came together to help us continue work on TRT’s 499th home served here in Houston.

From painting prep, exterior caulking and sealing, flooring and carpet removal, material movement, and additional repair support — every helping hand moved this project one step closer toward becoming safe, sanitary, and secure for the homeowner.

Today’s service generated approximately $1,878.66 in volunteer labor value directly back into the community.

We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer who gave their Saturday to help restore hope through service.

As we continue approaching the completion of our 500th home milestone, days like today remind us that restoration truly happens through community.

Thank you all for serving with us. 💪🏽🏠
