The Texas Business Hall of Fame is sad to share that Lee R. Raymond (Legend, 2006) has passed away in Dallas. Mr. Raymond was CEO of ExxonMobil from 1993 to 2005, and oversaw the 1998 agreement to acquire Mobil.

Former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Richard Fisher (Legend, 2019) describes his friend like this:

ā€œLee Raymond was a class act. Serious and driven and yet a kind friend, he brought Exxon Mobil into the modern era. When Margaret Thatcher was Britain’s Prime Minister I gave a dinner for her in my home in Dallas and included Lee. When all had left, Mrs. Thatcher pulled me aside and said, 'Mr. Raymond was the smartest man at the table.'"
