In light of new information, we also have an active Treasurer position open for 2027. This is only a 1 year commitment. Because of this new addition, we are extending the deadline to the end of the business day on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The WOW ONS board members volunteered at Ballard House yesterday with cooking and serving dinner to patients and their caregivers. Thank you to Ballard House for the wonderful opportunity.

Here are the open positions and requirements:

President-Elect - the only 3 year commitment.
- Year 1: 1 year term as President-Elect mentored by the current president
- Year 2: Serves as President for 1 year
- Year 3: Post presidency, will serve as Director-at-large, acting in an advisory capacity to the board.

Treasurer-Elect
- Maintains financial records and financial transactions for the WOW ONS Chapter/board
- Coordinates with the President and President-Elect for organizational matters requiring documentation
- Is on the Chapter bank account and responsible for reimbursement

Secretary
- Notates and keeps records of all chapter meetings

Programs-Elect - 2 year commitment
- Identifies educational needs for the chapter
- Coordinates programs to meet those needs
- Maintains meeting RSVPs to send to sponsors
- Acts as a liaison between chapter and community

Nominating-Elect - 2 year commitment
- Promotes chapter and board involvement
- Recruit candidates for board positions
- Processes election activities, nominations, ballots, voting, final positions

Membership-elect - 2 year commitment
- Promotes chapter membership
- keeps membership roster and sign in sheets for activities
- welcomes guests and members

Our June chapter meeting was a valuable experience due to the generosity of our sponsor, Novocure, and the engagement of attendees.

The Vendor Fair was a resounding success, bringing together our excellent vendors and members for an evening of networking and camaraderie. We're grateful for your attendance at this event, one of our most cherished occasions. Special thanks to our amazing Vendor Fair Committee (Diane Blair, Laura Layton, Balqis Murthy, Irene Balagtas, Karla Ow, Kelly Khuu and Cynthia De Atley) for all their hard work.

The car seat cover given away this year proved to be a highly versatile item, useful for keeping seat dry after pool or beach visits, preventing sweat stains after exercise, and safeguarding leather seats against the harsh Texas summers.
