Midtown Houston Arts Midtown Houston is a catalyst in supporting art. We were designated as a state of Texas Cultural Arts & Entertainment District in 2012.

We are known for our picturesque park spaces, long-standing arts organizations and national award winning public art. Midtown Houston is a State of Texas designated Cultural Arts & Entertainment District community. In 2012 our District was the first management district in the state to apply and receive this esteemed designation. This type of designation is one of several ways that communities can

enhance the development of an area. The District has a published 10-Year Cultural Arts Master Plan. Midtown is home to more than 20 arts organizations and over 350 art presenters. Since 2018 our Cultural District has distributed more than $90,000 in arts grants funding to local artists and arts organizations. We report annually to Texas Commission on the Arts about our cultural tourist impact. Our community is steeped in cultural heritage and a deep belief in the importance of Cultural Arts to educate and heal. The Midtown Cultural Arts and Entertainment District is governed by the Midtown Management District, a non-profit entity with a Board of Directors. HOUSTON! EAT. SHOP. ROCK. And SUPPORT! The businesses of Mid Main together with Mid Main Lofts kick off another First Thursday block party series this Fall for the 13th year in a row!

Join the businesses of Mid Main as we celebrate the First Thursday of the month with a block party highlighting a different non-profit and showcasing Houston’s best local talents.

Make a $10 donation to the featured non-profit to enjoy access to live music shows in the various venues, art shows, art workshops, the vendor market in Winbern Street AND beverages compliments of our longtime supporter, .
