Currently serving as Weekend Sports Anchor & Reporter, Matt Musil came to KHOU 11 News in 1980 and has served in several different capacities. He has served as Exec. Producer of Sports, Weekend Sports Anchor and CoHost of 11 News This Morning. A native of Frankfort, Kansas, Musil graduated from Kansas State University with a major in Radio-TV Journalism and a minor in coaching. He played football,

baseball, basketball, and ran track in high school. Before turning his attention to the radio business, he played baseball up to semi-professional level. Musil began his broadcast career at KNDY AM-FM in Marysville, Kansas and later worked at KWNS AM-FM in Pratt, Kansas. His first job in television was at KTVH-TV(CBS) in Wichita, Kansas. He later served 2 years as sports director at WTVM-TV(ABC) in Columbus, Georgia, before coming to KHOU-TV. Musil has three children and two grandchildren. He is involved with a number of local charitable organizations. Musil's biggest annual contribution to the community is through the Matt Musil All-Star Golf Classic, an annual celebrity/charity golf event, which is held in November. Musil also does community outreach to youth through his annual Hoops for Kids Basketball camps each summer.

It was an epic year for Matt Musil’s Charity Golf Event with Spring Spirit! We raised over 200k to help our community through Spring Spirit! This will benefit so many young people who will receive a scholarship to further their education! God blessed us abundantly this year and we feel so grateful!

We had the annual Spring Spirit/Matt Musil Charities Scholarship Awards Ceremony last night at Chapelwood! Beautiful event! Matt was able to raise even more money for these graduating seniors to send them off to college with a great start! Congrats to all the Seniors of 2025 that were chosen to recieve these blessings!!!!!! We couldn’t be more proud!

We had the opportunity to make a young girls dream come true yesterday by touring the KHOU 11 studios to see a live newscast, to meet some of the lead anchors and the folks behind the scene!Kendall Jackson, her lovely parents and best friend joined us for a fun filled evening of awe, laughter and pizza donated by Papa John’s! 😍

It’s Schalorship Time for Matt Musil Charities at Spring Spirit! What an honor it is for Matt and I to be able to present 5 scholarships to some of the most amazing high school Seniors around! These young people have worked so hard to chase their dreams. Not to mention how proud their families are of them! In our household, we say... we are nothing without God. And these precious Seniors couldn’t agree more! 🙏🏻Thank you to Spring Spirit and all the work that went into this presentation! The food, the company and the love at this event was such a blessing!

What an amazing day Monday was for Matt Musil Charities! Great people, great golf, great food and a clubhouse full of amazing givers! Praise Be to God from whom all blessings flow!
