Karen gets it. When her sons left home, she brought their bikes to Freewheels. She brought two more in June. Then last Saturday she returned with her husband Ray and two bikes her neighbors no longer needed.
Karen (center) also made a donation — $50 for each bike, enough to cover the parts, supplies, helmet, lock and lights every rider needs. Volunteer Dianne (right) makes sure each bike reaches someone who needs a way to get to work or school.

Annie served in the Finance Battalion of the 82nd Airborne during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and spent 12 years teaching math after she came back. Then she hit a wall.
The Wounded Warrior Project helped her rediscover the joy of riding. Volunteers from recently helped us send her off on a bike of her own.
Welcome back, Annie. 🚲

Philip is retired and watching every dollar. He told us this bike means he can get to the market, make it to doctor appointments and — maybe most importantly — explore and exercise on his own terms.
That's what a bike does. 🚲
