🩸 Our annual blood drive with Gulf Coast is back — on Saturday, August 16th!

🏥 This is Who is Hussain’s most important event as it takes place during Hussain ibn Ali’s mourning period. Hussain inspires us to save as many lives as possible… and what better way than donating your own blood for charity?

We have 2 locations for your convenience:

1) Dar e Abbas (12256 Old Walters Road) from 10 am to 2:30 pm
2) Al-Ghadeer (9260 S Course Dr) from 1 pm to 6 pm

⚠️ *Carefully read the requirements on the website to ensure you are eligible to donate.* Be sure to stay hydrated and have a decent meal before and after donating.

🎒 Salaam everyone! Interfaith Ministries has launched their Back-to-School Donation Drive to support Houston's refugee population in the upcoming school year. This is a great way to help the local community during the holy month of Muharram.

📚 There are two ways to contribute:

1) Make a monetary donation: All contributions will be matched thanks to an anonymous donor, doubling the impact. Be sure to put "Who is Hussain" in the memo! https://givebutter.com/refugeeschoolkids

January involved our latest collaboration with Hussain’s Table, a group dedicated to providing food for Houston’s houseless community every Saturday afternoon — also in the name of Hussain. Hundreds line up at the distribution location to receive the food package.

This is just a sneak peak of the next distribution on Saturday, March 29th!

Our Seeds of Support event in November helped refugee farmers mulch, w**d, and grow food. All the volunteers had a tedious but rewarding time at the farm!

📦 Shift 1 involves making & packing the food. We’ll head downtown for Shift 2 to distribute the food packages! Locations will be released closer to the event.

👚 Salaam all! We are collecting clothes for refugee families moving to Houston this Saturday, December 21st at Al-Ghadeer during their Jashan Program at 7pm.

🌬️ We are especially in need of warm clothes for all ages and NEW or GENTLY USED children’s clothing.

🧁 There will also be a bake sale fundraiser on the same day — consider donating and treating yourself to a freshly baked treat from our volunteers!
