Dear DECATS Houston Alumni, Mentors and Community,

We're so very sorry to share the news that two legendary Mentors – Glenn Sharp and Scott Muckelroy – have passed away. Glenn served at DECATS from its infancy in 2004 until he retired in 2022. Scott triumphed a similar tenure during our expansion across three campuses from 2011 until his retirement in 2024.

We are beyond grateful for Glenn and Scott's dedication and the many lives they touched through their service. Glenn single-handedly created what we might otherwise call the "DECATS Soundtrack," and his voice, lyrics, melodies, talent and love will always be with us. Scott pioneered comprehensive athletic programming in a time when we had none, significantly magnifying the impact of our "Wellness" year of "Manners to Morals" four-year curricula.

More than 6,000 Scholars attended DECATS Houston during the time we were privileged to have these talented performing artists as members of our team. We would not be who we are today without their contributions, their skills and, most simply, their kindness.

Eternal rest grant upon Glenn and Scott, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon our brothers and our friends.

🎉 Sign-up for DECATS 2026 is now open for all eligible returning Scholars! Check your email for instructions.

Don't delay - the priority deadline is February 7. Returning Scholars may still sign up after then, though there may be a waitlist.

Sign-up for first-time attendees will begin February 7 at 3 p.m., with invites currently scheduled to go out the weekend of February 1.

Our 32nd summer will be amazing!

We could not call this incredible 31st summer complete without you! From the bottom of our hearts, 💙 THANK YOU 💙 for joining us. Nothing will hold us back from fulfilling our mission to make a difference in the lives of gifted children - our life's work for three decades. We are so grateful to be able to contribute to your Scholar's education in the formation of tomorrow's leaders.

Our profound gratitude as well goes to DeBusk Foundation for its leading financial support to make our program possible, as well as to our host sites and staffs at Incarnate Word Academy, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and St. Anne Catholic School - Tomball.

Our level for this summer may be complete, but the fun isn't over yet: stay tuned for a full round-up of professional photos from all three sites and other updates from us. We'll see you in 2026!
