Run with THE Team

Run with THE Team Run with Coach Ally and the Memorial Park Team In Training So how does our program work? Recruitment for the Winter season is about to begin!

Team In Training (TNT) is the world’s largest sports endurance training program and the largest fundraising campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) – we’ve raised over $1 billion toward finding a cure for blood cancers and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. TNT provides personalized coaching to help participants reach their goal of accomplishing a physical cha

llenge. Participants have the option of running or walking a full or half marathon, cycling a 100-mile century ride, completing a triathlon or hiking The Grand Canyon. Participants have the opportunity to meet new people while they train with a group of supportive teammates. In addition to weekly training sessions under the guidance of a certified coach, TNT offers clinics on nutrition, equipment, injury prevention and safety. LLS & TNT will provide you with all the training and fundraising tools to complete your event (plus hotel, flight to out of town events, event entry, training/race jerseys, dinner the night prior to your event and a victory celebration following your event.) In exchange, participants raise funds to support blood cancer research and patient services and allows you the opportunity to save lives one mile at a time. Winter season events include Houston Marathon and Half Marathon as well as the Disney Marathon and Half Marathon. Training will start in August. For more information or to sign up for an information meeting, contact the LLS office at 713-680-8088 or visit our website at www.teamintraining.org/txg

FROM SARAH:
As I know many are already aware, Greg, my brilliant, brave, wonderful and much beloved husband, and Arden's adoring father, passed away Tuesday, July 19.

There is no place Greg loved more than a golf course at dusk and so a service memorializing his all too brief, but miraculous life will be held on Saturday, July 30 at the Club House at Royal Oaks Country Club in Houston. The gathering will begin at 7pm with the service scheduled to begin around 7:30pm (Greg was always a little flexible with time). Address and directions are below.

2910 Royal Oaks Club Drive
Houston Texas 77082
(Visitor entrance is located off of Westheimer Drive just east of Kirkwood Road.)
The Country Club respectfully requests that you do not send flowers for the service.

If you are traveling from out of town, Scott reserved a block of rooms at the Westin Memorial City for a rate of $109/night. 1-800-937-8461 ask for Ferris room block rate.

Thank you all for your love, support and friendship.

With love,
Sarah Ferris

To my TNT Family,
It is with a very heavy heart to let you know that our friend and honored teammate Gregg Ferris has passed away. He will be forever in the heart of his beautiful wife, Sarah and his daughter Arden as well as family and friends. Sarah and Gregg's love story was epic as was his battle with cancer and graft versus host disease - Cancer's Ugly Effing brother. While his battle has officially ended, he was a survivor through and through, the very definition of relentless and living strong. Please keep Gregg's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

A memorial is being planned and I will post here as the details become finalized.

Love,
Coach Ally
