Cy-Fair Helping Hands offers hope to the homeless and hungry. Our Community Food Pantry is serving all zip codes in the CFISD zones on Mondays, Thursdays, and the 1st/3rd Saturdays of each month. Emergency shelter and casework provided to qualifying homeless families with children. Homeless prevention programs include vocational scholarships at Lonestar College. Homeless Teen Initiatives serve hom

eless students in partnership with social workers and counselors in the school district, covering quick meals, snacks, other necessities, and extracurricular program costs. Outreach teams visit weekly with our friends living on the street, establishing relationships, and assessing needs. Other services include health checks, document assistance, county benefit application assistance, referrals/coordination into rehabs & shelters, showers, worship, fellowship, hot meals, and more. CFHH helps children in CFISD with backpacks and school supplies. Holiday programs include Thanksgiving Blessings Boxes and a Christmas event. We are funded solely by individual donations, local churches, and businesses.

Connections made through the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce are so important for our ministry as we look for ways to grow our partnerships for our community in need. Many thanks to Karen Couch, Chamber Ambassador, for introducing us to April Thomson, VP of Branch Operations for Openland CU at the August Chamber luncheon. We were invited to stop by their Fry Road location to collect several boxes of backpacks and school supplies. These items were promptly shared with Harris County Community Youth Services staff for distribution to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Title I campuses. Thank you, April, and Cypress Branch Manager Jonathan Santos, for making this gift possible!

Honoring the Life & Humanitarian Heart of Dolly Parton

Today, we honor the remarkable life and humanitarian legacy of Dolly Parton—and the many ways her kindness has touched generations of children and families.

In 1995, Dolly launched her Imagination Library in Sevier County, Tennessee, where she was born and raised. Inspired by her father’s inability to read or write, Dolly wanted to give children the opportunity to fall in love with books. The program began by providing free books to children from birth through age five and has since grown to reach children throughout the United States and around the world.

Dream More. Learn More. Care More. Be More.

At Cy-Fair Helping Hands, we are especially grateful that some of the children of families we have served have been beneficiaries of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. What a beautiful reminder that a simple gift—a book, a story, a moment of reading together—can open a child’s imagination and help shape a brighter future.

Dolly Parton has shown us that humanitarianism doesn't always begin with something grand. Sometimes, it begins with a book placed in a child’s hands and the belief that every child deserves the chance to dream.

We are grateful for the legacy she has created and for the lives she continues to touch through generosity, compassion, and an enduring belief in the power of children to Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More. Rest in Peace, Dolly. ❤️📚

Sometimes, a simple meal tells a beautiful story of community and gratitude. ❤️

Our pantry client, Karen, shared this sweet note with us:

“Thank you for always providing food for my family. Out of today’s blessings of extra peppers, we made stuffed peppers with rice. Meat and veggies all from Cy-Fair Helping Hands Pantry. Thank you!!!”

Karen, thank YOU for reminding us that every bag of groceries can become so much more than food—it can become a nourishing meal, a family gathered around the table, and a little extra hope. 💚

And right now, our Pantry shelves need a little extra love. We are completely out of canned green beans, canned fruit, jelly, canned tuna, and rice. We have approximately a one-month supply of canned hearty soup, canned chili, and dried beans.

If you can help replenish these much-needed items, your donation will go directly toward putting nourishing meals on the tables of local families who are struggling. Every can, jar, and bag makes a difference. ❤️

We’re excited to share some sparkling good news! ✨CFHH has received a $1,500 Spark Good Local Grant from our local Walmart Neighborhood Market Cypress #7357 on Barker Cypress at Longenbaugh!

This generous grant will help provide emergency shelter for homeless families with children, offering safety, along with a pathway from crisis to stability. You know lives will change!

We are so grateful to Walmart for investing in our community and helping us make a meaningful difference for local families. Together, we’re sparking good – thank you Walmart! 💙

They are holding a Spread the Love Peanut Butter Food Drive through 9/26 for their Houston Food Bank partners! Just pick up several jars, pay at the checkout and drop them into the Red Barrel on your way out!
