Petition for a METRO Bus Route on Calhoun Road

Connecting Our Community to Opportunity

We, the residents and stakeholders of the Calhoun Road corridor in Houston, respectfully request that METRO consider establishing a dedicated bus route along Calhoun Road. This vital corridor connects key destinations including:

🏫 University of Houston

🌳 MacGregor Park

🏘️ Third Ward neighborhoods

🏥 Nearby medical and employment centers

🚶 Why Calhoun Needs Transit
Limited access: Current METRO routes (Scott and Cullen) require long walks from Calhoun

Equity: Many residents rely on public transit and deserve direct service

Safety: City-led redesigns are improving walkability — transit should follow

Growth: The area is expanding with new housing, students, and businesses

📢 What We’re Asking For
A new METRO bus route or shuttle service along Calhoun Road

Frequent service connecting to major transit hubs

Community engagement in planning and design

Complaint: Does anybody know who can help with a prostitution problem in 6514 Calhoun road? I have reported it to local authorities and 311 but nothing has been done. In october last year they came and place a red sticker to a red truck there which it is still there.

The owners of that property show that the owner is:

Feel free to invite your neighbors to join GPCC as their friend and like us in FACEBOOK. In the future, we will use this communication tool to distribute information about GPCC (upcoming events, meeting notices, financial reports…etc.). We are just brainstorming at this time, and ideas from anybody are welcome.
