This week’s meeting was full of energy as enjoyed Speaker - Member Spotlight - John Frels - hearing about his involvement in the community and his contributions to the growing businesses in the area. Supporting this community is easy with members like this!

We also handed out 2 scholarships to local high school students. Belinda Mata received her $4,000 Scholarship yesterday in hand!

We also awarded a $3,000 check to our very own Sue Marshall for Fory Charitable Trust in her efforts to provide assistance to Ukrainian orphans and refugee children.

We had 3 wonderful guests attend as well who we hope to bring on as new Rotarians!

We have a great bunch here at Rotary Club of Houston Heights. We must make mention of Erv Lehman. He purchased 16 gift cards at $25 each to Belong Kitchen - our presenter from last week! They were distributed to everyone who participated in our Sunshine & Shadows today.

We had a great speaker who has served our country and is serving the community as well. Speaker - Tim Stroud - Stay Tuned for Vets got us going today with everything that his organization does for Veterans.

We are excited to have our newest member inducted last Wednesday. Susan Cobb is the newest Rotarian! Be sure to come to our next meeting to get to know her. We are thrilled to have her join!

Late Post!
Last weeks meeting was so wonderful. We had a wonderful speaker: Kim Brown of Belong Kitchen gave us some wonderful information about her non-profit kitchen aimed at providing employment and social interaction to young adults transitioning from high school to adulthood, specifically IDD adults. (Intellectual and Development Disabilities)

Belong Kitchen prepares grab and go meals for customers.

We had a wonderful meeting yesterday with Speaker - Taylor Woodruff: United Against Human Trafficking. We learned how to spot possible human trafficking, where it is usually happening and what a human trafficker looks like - which is the scariest of all. They look like normal people.
