The federal government reportedly stopped negotiating a potential monetary settlement with the families, which would have helped repair the harm it so cruelly inflicted on them... Does that sound like a flashback to Trump’s America circa 2018? Yes, but it’s also the status quo of immigration policy under President Biden. And it stands as one of the most neglected news stories of 2021."

Geloy Concepcion was going through a difficult time, having just immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area from the Philippines. Adapting to personal changes in his life, led Concepcion to turn inwards, setting him on an unexpected path to exploring the sometimes harrowing and overwhelming feelings that can accompany loneliness — in his own life at first, and then in the lives of others following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nearly 1.5 years later, those reflections are the focus of a new collection from Concepcion called "Things You Wanted To Say But Never Did."

Photographer Geloy Concepcion asked his Instagram followers to share "things you wanted to say but never did." Thousands of responses came in, touching on themes of love, fear, loneliness and grief.

Per Lisa, “'No One is Paying Attention'” is a comic I made to help amplify the hate crimes against Asian Americans amid the pandemic.
