🎶A Saturday rehearsal and what a wunderbarer Tag (wonderful day) it was!

There’s something powerful about bringing our singers together and hearing all of that hard work begin to take shape. A huge Dankeschön to the HCU Schola Cantorum and our Houston Choral Society singers for spending part of their Saturday making Musik together. The energy, focus, and musicianship in the room made this rehearsal truly special.

Together, we’re bringing Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem to life, and we can’t wait to share A Human Requiem with you alongside the incredible musicians of ECHO Orchestra! 💙🎶

🎶 “Selig sind, die da Leid tragen; denn sie sollen getröstet werden.“
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”

— Matthew 5:4 | Brahms, Ein deutsches Requiem, Movement I

There is something incredibly moving about these words. They remind us that even in moments of grief, there is hope, and we can find comfort in one another.

At last night’s rehearsal, we spent another evening bringing this beautiful music to life. As we sing, we’re reminded just how much these words mean and how deeply music can connect us. We hope that when you hear this work in October, it brings you the same sense of comfort and hope that we feel while preparing it. 💙
